Space42 was formed by merging Bayanat and Yahsat, two well-established publicly listed companies. Both have a growth legacy and strong balance sheets. Space42 leverages this and continues to grow to become a global leader in AI-powered space technology.
Upon the merger of Bayanat and Yahsat in 2024, Yahsat was delisted and Bayanat AI Plc was renamed Space42 Plc.

During the 2022 Golden Globe Race, Commander Abhilash Tomy collaborated with Bayanat and studied the impact of human activity on the marine environment. Throughout the race, he gathered water samples to analyze the presence of microplastics in global waters.
Results showed microplastics were present in the most remote corners of the world’s oceans. This study demonstrated that the fallout of human activity along coastlines is carried much further than was previously predicted.
