With more than 25, 000 YahClick terminals ordered in the first three months of the soft launch, Yahsat highlighted that successful deployment of YahClick and commercial operation of the service in key markets is attributed to the company’s clear strategy and vision at the start of the year. Yahsat successfully executed that strategy and vision ensuring Y1B was launched on time, completing a rigorous testing phase to confirm operational capability, and establishing strong partnerships with local Service Partners to assist with the local implementation of the YahClick service.
To date Yahsat has a network of positive working relations with a total of 30 Service Partners across 28 countries throughout the Middle East, Africa, Central and South West Asia. These partnerships are set to pave the way forward for the full commercial deployment of the YahClick service by the end of 2013.
“The successful launch and deployment of YahClick is a milestone for Yahsat and its public service offerings,” said Jassem Mohammed Al Zaabi, Yahsat Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Mubadala ICT. “Through YahClick we are showcasing the power of satellite based communication and helping to empower communities to harness cutting edge technology for their personal and economic advantage. As part of Abu Dhabi’s 2030 vision, we are committed to fostering the development of ICT to act as a driver of economic growth and development both at home in the UAE and across the region.”With high speed services of up to 15Mbps and cost effective package deals from as low as US$20 to suit a variety of audiences, YahClick’s early subscribers include a mix of energy, construction, agri-based verticals, SME, NGOs and individual users who were looking for more reliable Internet connectivity and higher speeds. Now fully embedded as an integral part of the communities’ communications network in key commercially operational markets, YahClick service has also seen a very strong demand for school networks in most of these countries.
Commenting on Yahsat and YahClick’s overall success, Yahsat CEO, Tareq Abdul Raheem Al Hosani stated; “2012 is a milestone year for Yahsat. The successful launch of our second satellite Y1B followed by Y1B completing its testing phase and going live with our YahClick service – all of which are phenomenal achievements in such a short space of time. At Yahsat we are wholly committed to providing individuals, communities and businesses with enhanced technology solutions through the use of Satellite Communications”.Continuing to push boundaries and proving its success as a game changing technology, YahClick serivce which operates from Yahsat’s Y1B satellite, uses Ka-band technology to provide first-class uninterrupted satellite broadband Internet to its users. This cutting edge technology enables YahClick subscribers to access high speed broadband Internet through a small receiver dish.
“We have been able to do this through the dedication of our team and the establishment of a strong network of Service Partners. Each of our partners have been selected due to their professionalism and dedication to making the YahClick service available on time and with a wide variety of packages that suit different client needs.”
Al Hosani added, “YahClick is a powerful tool designed to connect urban, rural and remote communities – empowering them to own their future and become a part of a thriving emerging economy. As we head into 2013 we are fully committed to ensure our service is operational across all markets and that the end user obtains the highest quality service we can offer.”
Reaffirming the positive impact YahClick is set to have on the region, Yahsat picked up the highly coveted SatCom Star Award earlier in the year for “Most Innovative Product/Service for Africa”. The award is a firm endorsement of the YahClick service offering. The SatCom Star Awards are designed to celebrate the continued growth and success of the satellite marketplace and focus on the exceptional and innovative performers within the industry”.
“YahClick’s satellite broadband serivce provides a refreshing new alternative to unavailable, slow, congested or frequently disrupted Internet for the region’s urban, rural and remote communities. YahClick means everyone can benefit from faster Internet browsing, email and social media as well as having the flexibility to choose from increasingly competitive pricing structures for the connection,” added Al Hosani.YahClick is Yahsat’s flagship product and has been designed to support a wide-range of market segments. The service is as suitable for individual home users as it is for small and medium businesses and government agencies. It can be deployed across schools giving developing nations a platform to boost education, or in health clinics to aid medical care or in government service centers. As a highly reliable Internet service, YahClick service also offers back-up connectivity solutions to business users who have access to terrestrial Internet services in case their primary link is disrupted.
